A finales de julio tenemos el curso "Transcender lo ordinario"- de fotografía y sonido-, por una
profesora de la Universidad de Lyon: Pauline Jurado Barroso.
Como fotógrafa, no importa dónde vaya, paso mi tiempo
mirando las cosas a través de la cámara para conocer su aspecto una vez
fotografiadas. Esta especie de "actividad compulsiva" cambió
completamente el modo de ver la belleza de las cosas. El curso "Trascender lo ordinario" propone
investigar el modo en que el arte y lo cotidiano se fusionan. ¿Cómo lo
ordinario puede convertirse en extraordinario una vez fotografiado? Y, más
concretamente, ¿qué clase de imagen tiene este poder trascendente? Teorías del
arte y algunas obras de arte contemporáneas serán debatidas, se propondrán
algunos ejercicios también. Se animará a los participantes a tomar fotografías
y grabar sonidos en las cercanías de Lumbier, con el objetivo de conectar con
los paisajes locales, lugares, encuentros sociales, viviendo escenas
cotidianas. Por otro lado, se trabajará el modo de organizar las obras
mediáticas (fotografías, sonidos, textos), creando libros digitales o
portafolios online.
Objetivos del curso:
-Crear una representación alternativa de lo rural.
-Pensar el límite entre un lugar deshabitado y campo
abierto.
-Pensar la relación entre el fotógrafo y su tema de
investigación.
-Aproximación sentida y anti-espectacular al paisaje.
-Habitar el mundo como un artista.
-Aprender y mejorar técnicas fotográficas y mix media
(fotografiar, grabar, editar, escribir y publicar).
¿Quién
es la profesora?
Pauline Jurado Barroso (1985, Francia) es fotógrafa y
teórica de las artes visuales. En 2016, se doctoró en artes visuales en la Universidad
de Lyon, investigando la fascinación por las ruinas modernas y los paisajes
post industriales.
Fotografió los páramos de Rhymney Valley (Wales, UK),
Picardy (France), Gier Valley (France), Seseña Nuevo (Toledo, Spain) y Montreal
(Quebec, Canada), cuestionando nuevas formas visuales de documentación. Sus imágenes
establecen un diálogo entre varios lugares abandonados, tratando de capturar el
alcance del daño.
Su investigación sobre arte contemporáneo y documental está
estrechamente relacionada con su práctica artística de la fotografía, la cual
ha ido mostrando en publicaciones especializadas : (« Detachment
zone », VARIAe edition, 2016; « Journey », Self-edition, 2016) y
académicas: (« Phototextual spaces», MSH, Paris, 2015 ;
« Landscapes in the making », PUSE, 2013). Es
coautora de « Art,
architecture, landscape in the post-industrial era », University Press of
Saint-Etienne, 2015.
Actualmente, da clases de fotografía y arte digital en la
Universidad de Lyon (Fr).

At
the end of July, we will have the photography & sound workshop "Transcend the ordinary" by
Pauline Jurado Barroso, who is teaching now at the University of Lyon.
As a photographer, no matter where I go, I spend my
time looking at things through a camera to see how they look once they’ve been
pictured. This (kind of compulsive) activity completely changed my way of
seeing beauty in things. The course Transcend
the ordinary offers to investigate the way art and every-day-life merges
together. How could the ordinary become extraordinary once pictured? And more
specifically, what kind of (still or moving) pictures has this transcendent
effect? Art theory and some artworks from the contemporary art scene will be discussed,
some exercises will be proposed. The participants will be encouraged to produce
images and sounds around Lumbier, trying to connect with local landscapes,
places and social encounters, experiencing ordinary scenes. We will work on the
way medias (images, sounds, texts) could be organized to create digital books
or online portfolios.
Course objectives:
- Create an alternative representation of the rural.
-Think the frontiers between inhabited places and open
areas.
-Think the relationship between the creator and its
subject of research.
-Sensitive and anti-spectacular approach of landscapes.
-Inhabit the world as an artist.
-Learn and improve technical skills in photography and

About
the lecturer:
Pauline Jurado Barroso (1985, France) is a photographer
and a visual art theoretician. She graduated a PhD in visual art (University of
Lyon, 2016) investigating the fascination for modern ruins and post-industrial
landscapes. She photographed wastelands in the Rhymney Valley (Wales, UK),
Picardy (France), Gier Valley (France), Seseña Nuevo (Toledo, Spain) and Montreal
(Quebec, Canada), questioning new visual forms of documentary. Her images
engage a dialogue between different derelict places, trying to capture the
potential of damaged sites.
Her research upon contemporary art and documentary is
closely related to her artistic practice of photography which has been showed
in special publications (« Detachment zone », VARIAe edition, 2016;
« Journey », Self-edition, 2016) and scholar editions (« Phototextual
spaces», MSH, Paris, 2015 ; « Landscapes in the making », PUSE,
2013). She is the co-author of « Art, architecture, landscape in the
post-industrial era », University Press of Saint-Etienne, 2015.
She exhibited her work in Galerie Bernard Ceysson
(Fr.), Maison de la Culture d’Amiens (Fr.),Reclaim Photography Festival
(Birmingham, UK), Photo à l’Ouest (Rennes, Fr.)and presented her research in various
international symposiums in University Paris X Nanterre-La Défense, University
of Lyon, Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art of Saint-Etienne, UQAM (Montréal,
Canada), International Center of Cerisy-la-Salle (Normandy, Fr.),
